U-trace is committed to providing meaningful privacy protection to its customers. Account information, vehicle information, driving and geolocation information are covered by our Privacy Policy. Account information, vehicle information, driving and geolocation information are obtained when a U-trace GPS tracker is activated in your vehicle and when you register for U-trace services.
The information we collect may be anonymized or aggregated. Information is anonymized when it is altered in a way that makes it impossible to reasonably identify you or your vehicle. Aggregation of information is the process of combining high-level data from multiple sources or data sets that, by definition, cannot be reasonably linked to you or your vehicle. This data may be shared with a third party for any reason after it is anonymized or aggregated.
WHO DOES THIS PRIVACY POLICY APPLY TO?
This policy applies to you and any other person who uses or drives your vehicle while a U-trace GPS tracker is in use, as well as any person who registers for our Services.
You or any other person who uses or drives a vehicle while a U-trace GPS tracker is in use, as well as any person who registers for the Services, are covered by this Privacy Statement. We refer to the owner, lessor or user of a vehicle equipped with an operational U-trace GPS tracker, when we use terms such as « you », « your » and « yours ». Whether the person owns, rents or lends the vehicle, this Privacy Policy applies to any person using a vehicle equipped with a U-trace GPS tracker. If you own or rent your car and someone else uses it or the Services, you must make them aware that the U-trace Services are activated on your car and advise them to read this Privacy Statement. DATA WE COLLECT AND USE
The following types of information are collected from you, your vehicle's active tracker, data you enter into our app, and other companies as specified below.
Account details include
Personal Data, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, login credentials, credit card number and other billing information.
Vehicle related information includes
Information about your vehicle, such as make, model, year, and vehicle identification number ( VIN ) information about the condition Of your vehicle, such As fuel economy, odometer readings, And diagnostic data information that might suggest someone has tampered With your adapter information about the On/off times Of your vehicle's ignition
Geolocation and driving data include
Information such as your vehicle's location, last known location, speed, accelerometer and g-force data, trip identification, individual turn-by-turn trips and associated logs, captured geographic areas, harsh driving events, overspeeding events, driving time, and other comparable details about how the vehicle is used.
How We Collect the Information
The information mentioned above is collected from you (for example when you use our application), from your vehicle (through the use of tracking equipment in your vehicle) and from other sources.
How We Use the Information
U-Trace may use your Account Information, Vehicle-Related Information, and Driving and Geolocation Information for the following purposes, To deliver Services to you, which includes monitoring, maintaining, and updating the U-Trace system, To implement and configure modifications and/or updates to specific software or systems, To correspond with you regarding your account or the Services provided, For troubleshooting, usage evaluation, and research purposes, To enhance our training related to products and Services, To improve our products and Services overall, To ensure the safety of yourself or others, To prevent and identify instances of fraud or misuse of our Service.
Data Sharing – Account and vehicle Data.
Except as explicitly stated in this Privacy Policy, U-trace does not engage in any activity of selling, licensing or sharing information that identifies our customers without the consent of the person with whom the information will be shared.
We may share your account login information and vehicle-related information with third parties for the purposes set out below.
We will share your credit card information with credit card service providers as necessary for processing with a company that acquires or enhances our business, or with appropriate third parties in order to comply with our legal obligations.
Our service providers, such as companies that store or process information on our behalf and help us provide the Services to you, help us evaluate the Services, or help us operate our business.
A business that purchases or assumes control of our firm in order to run it or to deliver any additional services you have requested.
When a law enforcement agency sends us a subpoena, warrant, court order, or other legal request.
Your Decisions Regarding Information Gathering, Utilization, and Exchange
The services we provide are subject to certain collection and sharing policies. You may need to opt out of these services or be willing to accept limited functionality in order to stop the collection or sharing of certain information.
The Way U-Trace Interacts with You
U-Trace may use notifications via in-application messages, by email using any email address you have provided to us to contact you regarding the Services (including cancellation of the Services), or by phone.
By adjusting your notification settings in the app and updating your contact information, you can manage your communication preferences and update or correct your contact information.
The Way U-Trace Protects Your Data
We use administrative security measures to help prevent the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction or theft of your information. Our employees are trained on how to properly access, use and disclose customer information, as well as the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
In accordance with our procedures, only those with a legitimate business need for access are authorized to view sensitive personally identifiable information.
We will contractually require all third-party service providers to maintain comparable technical, physical and administrative safeguards designed to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction or theft if we transfer or otherwise make available to them information that identifies you or the vehicle.
No program is 100% secure, and while we take great care to protect the personal information we collect and store, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will stop every unauthorized attempt to access, use, or disclose personal information. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact a customer service representative via the Customer Service tab located in the app menu. We will work with you to resolve any issues.
How Much Time U-Trace Saves Your Data
Until we no longer require the information to deliver services to you, run our business, communicate with you, troubleshoot issues, or fulfill our legal or contractual obligations, we may retain the information we collect. When we no longer require the information, we will discard it. By sending an email to admin@U-Trace.com from the email address linked to your U-Trace account, along with the IMEI number of your U-Trace device, you can request that your personal data be deleted. Until we no longer require it to run our business, communicate with you, troubleshoot issues, provide you with services, or satisfy our legal or contractual obligations, we may keep the information we collect.
Revisions to This Privacy Statement
As our business and services grow or evolve, or as required by law, we may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. You should check back regularly for updates, as if we do, we will post the most recent version in the U-Trace App. We will take reasonable steps in the App and on our website to notify you of any changes we make to the practices described in this Privacy Statement if you are a customer. If required by law, we will obtain your consent before making any changes.
